These collections occasionally include some orostachys or jovibarba's or other sempervivum like plants. Linnaeus grow them on his roof, they were known as house leeks, the fine roots stretching into every crevice in the slate and plugging leaks, this is the original green roof. They are virtually unkillable hence the name live forever's, however they are monocarpic and the rosette that flowers always dies heaving it's chicks to take its place.
